Job Summary

KGW Media Group in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a highly enthusiastic, self-motivated Major Accounts Coordinator to join our team of top performing sellers.  KGW is a ratings leader in the Portland market and has been named the 2016 Television Station of the Year by the Oregon Association of Broadcasters (OAB). Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the Sales Operations Manager in performing support for the Major Accounts team including local, regional, and national business
  • Work closely with Major Accounts Representative and Major Accounts Manager in processing and managing orders
  • Communicate with clients about program changes and outstanding pre-emptions; collaborate with Major Accounts team and agency contacts to build acceptable make-good packages
  • Pull contracts, spot times, and posts; develop proposals, and generate reports in a timely manner
  • Facilitate management of co-op invoicing among Account Managers and Billing Team
  • Input miscellaneous billing contracts; maintain barter spots and pre-emptions; research discrepancies
  • Maintain pending and booked file, political file, and paid programming
  • Assist Sales Management with projects, as needed
  • Provide back up support to Receptionist and Copy Desk

Qualifications

  • Requires strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to work under deadlines and multi- task
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; math aptitude

Work Experience

  • Experience related to TV and digital sales and terminology preferred 
  • Knowledge of Television Traffic Systems a plus

 

Education

College degree, with one year media sales experience preferred

  • Self-managing and the ability to pay attention to detail are an absolute must.
  • Physical demands of this job include the ability to reach buttons on monitors, through extended periods of computer monitoring.
  • On-Air switching of video and audio to sustain quality video and audio signals at proper levels and to maintain accurate programming and transmitter logs, and reports.
  • Responsible for proper transmitter control recording multiple satellite feeds, as well as perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.

Work Experience

  • Must have a valid driver`s license and an insurable driving record.
  • Drug screening is a pre-employment requirement upon job offer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:           

  • 2 year degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Mobile journalism experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in journalism preferred.
  • Sound editorial judgment & broad knowledge of journalism ethics and libel laws are a must.
  • Computer literacy, including newsroom computer systems
  • The ability to speak conversational Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to lift and carry 15 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
