  • Daily review for unpaid cash in advance spots.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies and develops new business accounts not currently advertising with My48, MeTv, and/or Telemundo, and/or on the KMVU FOX26 website. Continually monitors other media and other television stations for lead generation.  
  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual budget goals as set by station management.
  • Continue to grow the share of business KMVU-TV receives with ongoing advertising clients.
  • Continually develop relationships with the station’s clients.  A sales call is defined, but not limited to, a drop by appointment that leads to a specific appointment, an appointment with a business decision maker to do a needs analysis, present a specific advertising package, close a previously presented sales package or a commercial production pre-shoot or shoot.  Service calls such as stopping by to visit a client for an update on business or appointments that are not with the decision maker are necessary and part of your daily routine but do not count toward the six required daily calls.
  • Place phone calls to clients each day.  These calls should be to introduce yourself, to schedule a specific face to face sales call, to answer questions or move sales process forward or to answer client questions.
  • Continue to develop new business and seek out new clients.  A new business call is only defined as one in which a Needs Analysis is conducted.
  • Sell sports and specials on an ongoing basis in addition to regular spot schedules.
  • Attend weekly sales and training meetings and one on one meeting with sales manager. 
  • Assist in developing and implementing sales packages and promotions.
  • Continually improve your own sales skills through personal development and learning as well as active participation in station sponsored sales training.
  • Sell the production and creative services of KMVU-TV to advertising clients.
  • Collection of client’s billing if timely payments are not made.
  • Maintain the necessary paperwork in order for schedules to air correctly and makegoods/not available spots rescheduled promptly to avoid credits and lost revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Positively represent station at onsite appearances, live broadcasts, concerts and events
  • Set up and breakdown promotional material used for on-site promotion
  • Administrative duties including coordinating prize giveaways, helping manage station social media, and promotional recaps
  • Maintain safe operation of company vehicles, prizes, equipment, and other promotional tools
  • Point of contact for client events and management of client appearances and remotes
  • Interact with listeners and clients in a professional manner
  • Participate in promotions and client meetings, help to maintain promotional calendar
  • Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and insurance
  • Must have dependable transportation
  • Ability to work flexible hours including all days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry 70 lbs.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
  • Computer literacy in applicable programs including: Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Creative and self-motivated
  • Ability to learn and navigate web-based, company-wide software systems
  • Ability to problem-solve and prioritize
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

JOB SUMMARY

The TV Local Sales Coordinator will be an active participant in the sales and marketing process, contributing creative ideas and feedback while lending administrative support.  It will provide general administrative assistance to the TV Sales Department, coordinate station sales promotions and participate in possible grooming opportunities for an Account Executive role.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotional campaign execution on behalf of clients and the station
  • Facilitate inter-office communications to insure all promotions media assets and campaigns are delivered successfully for clients
  • General administrative assistance to General Sales Manager, National Sales Manager, Local Sales Manager and Account Executives
  • Partner and strategize with Account Executives to create original, unique and professional presentations
  • Create compelling recaps for all media campaigns, air checks, screen shots and video recaps
  • Primary backup for National Sales Assistant and Digital Sales Specialist
  • Communicate professionally with Account Executives and clients daily as a solutions provider
  • Digital and traditional (Wide Orbit) order entry for TV GSM, LSM, NSM and Account Executives
  • Maintain various spreadsheets, calendars and reports for TV Sales Department
  • Provide order assistance throughout entire campaign

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent; College education or 2 years relevant experience preferred
  • B.A. in Marketing, Business, Advertising, English, PR, or Communications ideal
  • Advanced skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Windows applications
  • Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator proficiency preferred
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
  • Superior time and project management skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks for many people
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with a team
  • Maintain a positive disposition when communicating with members of all departments, customers, listeners and outside vendors
  • Exceptional organizational skills and proven accuracy in work
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

  • Up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging multi-platform news content, including text, audio, video, photos, graphics, data, visual journalism/storytelling and community building
  • Hands-on knowledge of special coverage, features, enterprise and investigative reporting and breaking news

  • Create accurate graphics for newscasts and sports shows including “Seahawks Gameday” and “Q it Up Sports”

  • Deliver sports content to all platforms on 24 hour cycle
  • Fill-in as producer of “Q it Up Sports,” a weekly half-hour sports broadcast
