Applicant must be well-organized, meet deadlines, possess strong communication and computer skills, be involved with the community and work well under pressure.
Develop new advertising clients, coordinate television production, present marketing opportunities on stations website and FOXdigital platform, maintain excellent client communications with both potential and existing accounts. If you are looking for an 8am-5pm job, this career is not for you.
EXPERIENCE HOW TO APPLY
Prior Television Advertising Sales and/or Broadcasting experience and College degree preferred.
Must have professional appearance, access to reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Drug testing is a pre-employment requirement. The ideal candidate will be versatile and capable of learning specialized software applications and have an aptitude for operating electronic equipment. You must have great attention to detail, excellent computer skills, and must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Broadcast Operations including setting up, controlling and monitoring television broadcast equipment to transmit television programs and commercials to the viewing audience
- On-air switching, dubbing and transferring programs
- Gathering satellite feeds for broadcast use
- Preparation and operation of equipment (before, during and after live newscasts)
- Support the production of newscasts and other live or taped programming for television and multi-platform use
- Support operation of the station by assisting Engineering, News, and other departments
- Other duties as assigned

TMP’s as we call them are the true Swiss Army Knives of the KHQ newsroom. TMP's do everything from edit video, operate studio cameras, prepare the studio for broadcast, shoot breaking news, write web and newscast stories, and countless other responsibilities.
So you have to be technically savvy, adaptable, and producer-minded. The TMP position is frequently used as a springboard to more advanced positions in the newsroom. Non-linear editing experience is preferred.
