AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS — PILOT, an innovation initiative of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), is partnering with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), to co-fund the development of a prototype voice-controlled hybrid radio. Hybrid radio combines broadcast radio with internet connectivity to provide compelling user experiences, such as adding voice controls. March 1, 2018 is the deadline for radio stations to implement the Online Public File—noncommercial educational radio stations and commercial radio stations in the Top 50 Nielsen audio markets with less than five fulltime employees must complete the uploading of their public inspection file to the FCC’s online file by this date.
