Oregon Association of Broadcasters
Bob Singer was named President & Executive Director of the Oregon Association of Broadcasters on December 16th, 2019. The OAB represents 235 local radio and television broadcasters in Oregon.
Mr. Singer most recently served as General Manager of KTVZ-TV (NBC) and KFXO-TV (FOX) in Bend, Oregon. Prior to being General Manager, Bob served as Director of Sales for the stations.
Bob is originally from New York City and attended Valley College in Los Angeles. He began his television career in 1978 as an Account Executive with KATZ Television in Los Angeles. After a short stint in commercial development he moved into management with Petry Television in Portland Oregon. Bob then joined KPTV (FOX) as National Sales Manager. He was then recruited by KOIN-TV (CBS) as Local Sales Manager, then promoted to General Sales Manager after Emmis sold their television properties.
Mr. Singer has served on the Oregon Association of Broadcasters Board of Directors for the last seven years. He is also past Chair of the Tower Theatre Education Foundation and serves on the advisory committee for Lines for Life in Central Oregon.
John N Tamerlano
President & CEO Emeritus
John Tamerlano was President & Executive Director of the Oregon Association of Broadcasters from February 1, 2018, until his retirement in 2019. The OAB represents 235 local radio and television broadcasters in Oregon.
Mr. Tamerlano served as Vice President and General Manager of KATU-TV (ABC) and KUNP-TV (Univision) in Portland, Oregon. While under its former owner (Fisher Broadcasting, Inc.) John served as Regional Senior Vice President, overseeing station operations in Boise, Idaho, Bakersfield, California, Eugene, Oregon and the Tri-Cities, Washington.
John is originally from Cleveland, OH and attended Bowling Green State University. He began his television career in 1979 as a Sales Account Executive with WPGH-TV in Pittsburgh, PA, and became that station’s Local Sales Manager in 1980. In 1984, as General Sales Manager, he helped launch a new sign-on station, WRGT-TV in Dayton, Ohio. John returned to Cleveland in 1984, where he was the General Sales Manager for the ABC Scripps-Howard station and the NBC Gannett Television station. He was recruited to Portland, OR in 1999 by Lee Enterprise’s CBS affiliate, KOIN-TV, to serve as Director of Sales and Research and oversaw the local sales efforts for their sister stations.
Mr. Tamerlano served on the Oregon Association of Broadcasters Board of Directors and was on the ABC Network and TvB Sales Advisory Committees. He is also been a board member of Make A Wish Foundation of Oregon and the American Red Cross of Oregon.
